SUNDAY:

10.00 am: The Montague and Capulet boys brawl on the streets.

10.30 am: The Prince announces that any more fighting will result in punishments.

11.30 am: Paris and Capulet speak about Juliet, Paris wants her as his bride.

12.00 pm: Benvolio finds out Romeo is in love with Rosaline.

12.30 pm: The servant of the Capulets asks Benvolio and Romeo to deliver invitations to a party.

12.45 pm: Romeo decides he will go with Benvolio to the party, because Rosaline will be there, although he feels the course of his life will change for the worse, as Shakespeare mentions the inevitable death of Romeo.

03:00 pm: Juliet, her Mum, and the nurse talk about Paris’ proposal, Juliet doesn’t like the idea, although her mum and the nurse do.

03:30 pm: Romeo, Mercutio, and Benvolio get ready for the party, and speak about Romeo’s love for Rosaline.

05:00 pm: Romeo turns up at the party, but doesn’t want to dance.

06.00 pm: Romeo meets Juliet and they kiss.

06:30 pm: Tybalt recognizes Romeo’s voice, and wants him thrown out, but his Master says no.

08.00 pm: Romeo and his friends leave, but Romeo turns around and disappears.

10:00 pm: Romeo speaks to Juliet from her Garden to her balcony.

10:15 pm: They exchange vows, but Juliet suddenly has a feeling that they will suffer the consequences, as Shakespeare toys with the idea of fate once again.

11:00 pm: Finally they depart, as the nurse calls for Juliet, before they leave, Juliet tells Romeo that if he can arrange a wedding to send word tomorrow.

MONDAY:

08:00 am: Romeo travels to Friar Lawrence’ cell, but before he arrives, the Friar speaks to the audience about the good and evil in life, and again makes reference to fate, and the ending of the play.

08:10 am: Romeo reveals himself, and the Friar instantly notices that Romeo had not slept, and is suddenly suspicious. Romeo explained that he had done nothing, and that he has found new love with Juliet. The Friar thinks this love is based on looks alone, but after much conversation, gives into fate and agrees to marry them to try and end the houses’ feud.

08:30 am: The nurse hunts down Romeo to get news, and then goes to Juliet, after playing around she eventually gives into Juliet and explains her husband is waiting at Friar Lawrence’ cell.

09:00 am: The wedding is completed, and the Montagues and Caoulets are now intertwined.

09:30 am: Benvolio and Mercutio are on the street, and Benvolio thinks they should avoid a fray, but they stay on the streets, because Mercutio accuses Benvolio of being a chicken.

09:40 am: Tybalt and co. approach, and cuss the boys, Romeo appears, and is very ‘welcoming’ of the Capulets’ verbal assault.

09:50 am: Tybalt wants to fight Romeo, when Romeo refuses, Mercutio draws angrily, and when Romeo tries to break up the fight, Mercutio is stabbed under Romeo’s arm. Mercutio curses the families, and leaves to die off-stage.

10:30 am: Tybalt returns, and Romeo angrily draws, Tybalt is overly cocky, and is slaughtered by Romeo, who flees the scene, and runs to Friar Lawrence. The Prince enters, and declares that if Romeo is found within the city walls he shall pay, with his life.

10:40 am: The news is broken to Juliet, and she weeps, but the nurse assures her she can get Romeo to her.

11:00 am: Romeo is told of his banishment, and is distraught, he believes fate has given him a scenario worse than death.

01:00 pm: The nurse enters the cell of Friar Lawrence, and retrieves Romeo, to spend the rest of the day, until morning, with Juliet.

03:00 pm: Paris and Lord Capulet decide to hold the wedding of Paris and Juliet on Thursday, to cheer up Juliet, but not too close to show Tybalt’s death as insignificant.

05:00 pm: Lady Capulet is ordered to tell Juliet of the arrangements, but she takes her time, she thinks that Juliet is still too upset.

06:00 pm: The nurse tells Juliet to expect her mother soon, Romeo wants to brave staying longer.

07:30 pm: Lady Capulet speaks to Juliet about the marriage, as Romeo hides on the balcony. The Lady is worried when Juliet declines the offer.

08:00 pm: Lord Capulet finds out and is outraged, he says if Juliet doesn’t wed on Thursday, she shall be disowned.

09:00 pm: Romeo exchanges words with Juliet, before lowering himself from her balcony and fleeing to Mantua.

TUESDAY:

04:00 am: The nurse is stumped, and advises Juliet to go ahead with the arrangements, no one will no about Romeo.

08:00 am: Juliet leaves on her way to ‘confess’ at Friar Lawrence’ cell.

08:30 am: Paris is with the Friar, and Juliet has a very casual conversation with Paris, hinting that she loves Romeo constantly. And once he leaves she speaks with the Friar about her dilemma, and that if they can’t resolve the problem she will kill herself. This is, perhaps, a more subtle mention of her fate.

08:45 am: Friar Lawrence has a plan, he explains to Juliet that he will give her a sleeping potion, everyone will think that she is dead, he will send word to Romeo, through Friar John, to pick her up as she lays open in her (not so premature) tomb.

09:30 am: Juliet arrives home, and finds her mother and father, she says her mind has changed, and that she will be pleased to marry Paris. Her father is overjoyed, he is so happy that he moves the wedding forwards to Wednesday, tomorrow.

08:00 pm: Juliet asks the nurse to leave her alone on her wedding night. Juliet wonders briefly if it will work, and then takes the potion.

WEDNESDAY:

07:00 am: The nurse finds Juliet dead, and calls for her parents, they put her in the Capulets’ tomb.

12:00 pm: Balthasar hears word of Juliet’s death, and rushes straight to Mantua, to inform Romeo.

12:20 pm: Romeo rushes to the Apothecary, to get a poison, then fetches Balthasar, and heads straight to Verona.

06:00 pm: Paris and his Page go to Juliet’s tomb, the Page waits outside.

06:30 pm: Romeo arrives, and greets the Page, who stays out of his way. He tells Balthasar to stay back aswell.

06:35 pm: Romeo sees Paris, they exchange words, which leads to a fight, Paris falls and is slain. Romeo lays him next to Juliet.

06:40 pm: He then goes to Juliet, and talks about how death couldn’t remove her astonishing beauty. He kisses her, and takes the poison.

07:00 pm: Friar Lawrence arrives, after Friar John explains how the village he stayed at on his journey was diseased, and he had to turn back. He went to retrieve Juliet and send word to Romeo that she was at his cell. He finds Balthasar, who says Romeo is in the tomb, and that he is worried.

07:05 pm: The Friars find Paris and Romeo dead, and Juliet beginning to stir. They tell her what happened, and she takes her own life, with a dagger.

07:15 pm: The Prince arrives, he takes everyone’s stories, and uses the letter that Friar Lawrence was about to send for proof.

07:30 pm: The Montagues, and Capulets arrive. Lady Montague had passed away over night. Montague says he will build a gold statue of his son’s wife, before the Prince has the final words.
